As a cancer survivor, patient advocate for loved ones, and a molecular biologist specializing in personalized cancer care I have become increasingly frustrated with the current standard of care for metastatic breast cancer.

Everyday approximately 10,000 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Every one of those cancers is biologically unique and deserves a unique response. Through individual patient education and empowerment, Qualfied Patient LLC was founded to accelerate the promise of precision oncology.

I joined Qualified Patient to help navigate oncology patients through one of the hardest experiences of their lives. I am passionate about using my dedicated years of experience as a scientist to translate complex medical information into clear, personalized guidance patients can use to make informed decisions about new diagnoses and navigating treatment towards remission.

Much of my career has focused on cancer research and therapeutics, but my own experience with cancer and supporting loved ones through their cancer journeys has made this work deeply personal to me. Through Qualified Patient, I hope to use my scientific background to help patients understand what the latest clinical research means for them and become more aware of options that may help inform their care.

Scientific fear-mongering prevents patients from fully taking an active role in their treatment plans. Having experienced the effects of a lack of understanding in my own community, I joined Qualified Patient with the goal of using my background in cancer and molecular biology to help patients become their best advocates for their care.

I hope to take an empathetic and personalized approach to empower oncology patients and their loved ones towards well-informed self-advocacy as they juggle the logistics of treatment options and coverage. At Qualified Patient, I aim to work with patients and their care team to extract clarity and practical directions from dense scientific research.

With a background in breast cancer research and motivated by my family’s experience with hereditary breast cancer, I joined Qualified Patient to help bridge the gap between complex cancer research and patient understanding by making scientific information more accessible and meaningful.

I hope to add my scientific experience to the team at Qualified Patient and help individuals on their breast cancer journey find additional treatment options which are right for them.
